Second day in Phuket and we've booked a cruise to James Bond island - where the movie 'The Man with the Golden Gun' was shoot back in the year 1974. We paid 1,000 baht per person for this cruise, and that is a huge amount compare to the other cheaper price we were offered to. But, we made the right choice! Cause Silver Hawk cruise to James Bond island proves to be great! If anyone is interested to go on a cruise to James Bond island... I'd like to recommend you this cruise.

Today... i was lazying by the beach, went canoeing, hold a Thailand crab - ปู (read: Pu), danced and sang Gangnam style with the other cruise participants. And the interesting point from Silverhawk's cruise is that they offer cruise trip until dark. So we were able to watch the sun goes down while crusing the sea. Bottom-line, the day was beautiful!!!

p.s: I knew I made the right choice with this cruise when lunchtime arrived and I tasted the food... because the lunch served in the ship was delicious!!

For our second day in Bangkok, we headed to the Rattanakosin or the Old City area. This particular day is a little disappointing for me; and although I originally had planned to rant all about this day here in my blog... But, it's too disappointing to remember, so I won't talk about it. Scroll down to see more photos of the temples and buddha images, and also directions to the destinations.

To go to Wat Pho & Grand Palace:

1. Take the BTS, take the Silom line and go down in Saphan Taksin station.

2. Go out through Exit 2

3. Take the Chao Phraya River Express Boat Pier and then take the boat heading to Tha Tien Pier (N.8) and just walk straight to Wat Pho (Go along with the huge boat, with other people. Don't go on separate longtail boat, they charge price higher. The express boat has set price (15 Baht) and they give you ticket, so you won't be tricked!!!)

4. To go to Grand Palace, just ask around for direction. My friend and I walked to Grand Palace; but if you want to save time or your strength go ahead ride the tuk-tuk. But really, you should just walk...

To go to Wat Arun:

1. Wat Arun is on the other side of Wat Pho and Grand palace, you can take taxi, tuk-tuk or boat again... but personally I think boat is the best option

2. Go to Tha Tien pier and then this ferry will take you straight across with only 3 Baht!

To go to Asiatique:

1. [From BTS] Exit 2 and go to the pier and there'll be a shuttle ferry provided by Asiatique. It is free and the journey takes probably about 10 minutes and it's available until 11 PM

2. [From Tha Tien Pier] You can take the Chao Phraya River Express Boat and go down on the Asiatique pier, this cost 15 Baht

Leaving behind our 'you-know-what' (read: thesis) Juniwise, Monica and I flew to Bangkok! Despite the many deadlines and the very little amount of saving, we flew anyway. This is our first holiday together and I think we deserve this after all our hardwork together in our online shop.

We arrived in Suvarnabhumi Airport at 11.30. Signage in Thailand can be very frustrating, because most of it are written in Tai-Kadai (Thailand language). But thankfully we met an Indonesian guy who is currently working in Bangkok, and he helped us by showing us how the BTS route and how to purchase the ticket. We parted but thankfully find our way to our hostel.

Oh, by the way... I really think Bangkok government needs to consider building more escalator in the BTS stations! Carrying huge suitcase down the stairs is really tiring!

We checked in Bed Bangkok Hostel and well... the photos looks way too good compared with the reality. It's decent and clean. The location of the hostel is also very easy to find and near BTS station, but for anyone planning to find a place to stay in Bangkok do find another hostel. Especially if you're traveling with your friends, Bed Bangkok has really small room :(

Anyway, we spent our first day shopping in Pratunam (Platinum Mall). And we did shop 'til we drop. Or at least our legs did. We could barely walk our way back home.

To go to Pratunam:

1. Go down in Chit Lom station and go to central world direction and ask people around where Pratunam is; it's next to iSetan building.

2. Or you can go down in Siam central station don't exit just yet and just follow the direction and go through inside central world, then to isetan and then go out and from iSetan it should only be a 3 minute walk to Pratunam. (I personally prefer this way, cause Bangkok can get really hot during the day, walking through malls with AC feels really good)

After six-months-but-seems-like-6-years of internship program (no, my office is great. awesome in fact. it's not them, it's me) I finally get the chance to go home. 6 months is half a year; can you imagine how much I desperately miss my home?

Since it's winter in Australia, home was chilly and cold. It was lovely. Breezy with sun, you can roll the window down and not sweat at all. Unlike *cough* Jakarta *cough*. And the new rent house my parents are staying in is very lovely also. Mom has planted a lot (add more o's there, cause there really are whole lot of plants) flowers and trees, making the house much greener and fresh.

1 month in home is a definite stress reliever. I'm so glad I have Bali to come home to after the hectic days in Jakarta; I feel so blessed.

And while I was home, I refill my toycam and took few shots. This is the first time I use Kodak film. And well... the result didn't came out the way I had hoped it would be. Most of them all over exposed, wayyyy to bright - you could barely see the image /sigh/ But hey... one would never learn if they never makes a mistake, right?

But, I guess... I'll go back to using Fujifilm next time.

Take a look at some of the printed photos that came out 'okay', well at least the images are visible to the eyes. Oh, anyone might know why this happened to my photos? Maybe an 'over-exposed-film-911' tips for me?
